Welcome to the Learning Commons!
The Learning Commons, formerly known as the Media Center, is located between the gym and the computer lab near the center of the school. Here, you will find a large collection of print books, ebooks (digital books), and Cobb Digital Library online. You will also find Mrs. Buro and Mrs. Graham ready to help you find what you're looking for or perhaps something brand new.
We continue to transition from a Media Center to a Learning Commons this year. A learning commons is designed to be more flexible and to accommodate active learning and collaboration. As students increase the usage of technology in their education, we also have found the need to adapt our services and our space.
Come visit our Makerspace table to find something to build or be creative! It is located next to the magazines and everyone book section in the Learning Commons.
Come check out our blog for current events about the makerspace and Learning Commons!

Meet the Staff!
Marla Buro, Media Specialist
Mrs. Marla Buro came to Cheatham Hill from Tech Services in August, 2005. She completed her Master’s in Library Media from Georgia State University in 2004. One of her favorite things about being a Media Specialist is having the opportunity to share a wide variety of books with students. She is excited about the PASS program with the Cobb County Public Library System. This joint collaboration provides ALL STUDENTS in Cobb County Schools even more access to books and lots of other resources. (See link on Student Resource page for more details!)
Mrs. Buro and her husband, Earl, have a son and a daughter (who is a teacher at Kemp) and two grandsons. They also have a dog named Sadie. Her favorite genre is historical fiction and her hobbies include reading, knitting, and hunting for antiques.
